Fire Department
Overview
The Davidson Fire Department is a combination volunteer/paid agency that is responsible for fire protection, rescue services, and emergency medical first response in the Davidson-North Star Fire District and surrounding areas of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.  The North Star area is outside town limits, in our extra-territorial jurisdiction.  The Insurance Service Office (ISO) reviews the fire prevention and fire suppression capabilities of individual communities or fire protection areas. Our town's ISO rating is Class 5 on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the best.  The North Star fire district is a Class 5/9S.

Mission
Our mission is to protect the lives and property of the citizens in our community through a comprehensive program of fire prevention, fire suppression, and training.

We perform rescue operations in entrapment, hazardous materials, and marine situations. We also provide basic life-support service on emergency medical calls in our district.

Fire Department Response

Members on-duty respond from the Davidson Fire Station while others respond from home or work.

First responders are certified North Carolina Emergency Medical Technicians. All structural firefighters have undergone extensive state firefighting training as per state of North Carolina.  Our firefighters have taken extensive fire fighter training per North Carolina state requirements, and have also received additional training in rescue procedures and techniques.
