Davidson residents are invited to join the Davidson Police Department on Tuesday, August 3 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Roosevelt Wilson Park (420 Griffith Street) to celebrate the 18th Annual National Night Out. The event is free and open to the public. On-street parking will be available, though residents are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes. National Night Out is an annual crime prevention and community-building event, sponsored by the Davidson Police Department to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-resident partnerships, and neighborhood cohesiveness.
This year’s event will offer hamburgers and hot dogs, along with sides and an ice cream truck. There will be games (a bounce house, dunk tank, and scavenger hunt) and music performed by Mayor Rusty Knox, the Bailey Sweet River Band, Multiply Church- Lake Norman, and more. Concerts on the Green continues on Sunday, August 1 featuring tunes from Smitty and the Jumpstarters at 6:00 p.m. on the Town Green. On Saturday, August 7, REO Survivor will be performing at Davidson’s Concerts at the Circles on Jetton Street from 4:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
