Planning Board

Purpose 
The Planning Board serves as an advisory board to the Board of Commissioners on all matters of planning and zoning. Specifically, the board renders opinions and makes recommendations regarding the planning ordinance, land use plans, and development projects in accordance with the standards established in the Davidson Planning Ordinance, Chapter 13. The board is governed by the rules listed here.

Membership 
The Planning Board consists of 7 to 12 members with at least 7 of the members being citizens of the Town of Davidson and one from the ETJ, appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Members’ backgrounds include a diverse skill set drawn from the fields of architecture, law, environmental engineering, planning, business, local government and real estate. Knowledge of and/or dedicated interest in local government process, perceptive listening, and the ability to offer constructive guidance are additional characteristics desired of participants.

  • Meets the last Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

  • Trey Akers and Travis Johnson are the Town staff liaisons from the Planning Department.
