The April is for Arts Gallery Crawl takes place on Friday, April 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Our Main Street and South Main Street businesses and sidewalks will be transformed into lively art galleries. Homewood Suites at the Circles @ 30 will also showcase many artists.
New this year: Trolleys will transport “crawlers” from our neighborhoods (Davidson Landing/North Harbor area, St. Alban’s, McConnell, and River Run) to view the various exhibits. Please visit www.townofdavidson.org/April for a map of all participating locations and trolley stops.

Also on Friday, April 15, we are partnering with DavidsonLearns to offer a “sculpture walk.” The group will meet in front of town hall at 7:00 p.m. to hear Davidson College art professor Dr. C. Shaw Smith discuss public art in town and will later take a trolley to Davidson’s campus for a tour of their sculptures. There is no need to register for this event – simply show up!

Art on the Green is Davidson’s largest annual arts festival, bringing thousands of citizens and visitors to Davidson’s Main Street and town green on Saturday, April 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This juried art show spotlights many of the region’s finest artists in a weekend-long celebration. Mark it on your calendar! Over 50 artists from the Lake Norman region, North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Maine will be joining us to showcase and sell their creations in all types of media: sculpture, watercolor, photography, wood, glass, ceramics, etc. Patrons can stroll around the green to enjoy amazing art from a wide variety of talented regional artists, listen to live music, and enjoy local cuisine.

Sunday, April 17 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. is the arrival of our popular Concerts on the Green series. The Davidson College Jazz Ensemble will kick off the concert season with a lively performance, and will be on the library stage for all to enjoy. Please bring your own picnic to enjoy on the town green or purchase food from our local restaurants that will be open that evening.

NEW this year: Culinary Crawl
The Culinary Crawl will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in April (5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27) from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Join these participating restaurants: Campania Café, Carrburritos Taqueria, Flatiron, Kindred, Millstone Bake House & Provisions, Mestizo, The Pickled Peach, Restaurant X, Toast and Upper Crust.
