Ride-Along Program

To promote trust between the police and community, the Davidson Police Department encourages open and candid police operations. Citizens of the community are therefore encouraged to ride with officers during a four-hour tour of duty. Patrol Supervisors have the discretion to make exceptions to either extend or shorten the four-hour tour of duty depending on the needs of the department.

The Ride-Along Program is one of the most effective programs the Davidson Police Department utilizes to help citizens understand police roles and functions.

Participation Instructions

If you are interested in participating in the Ride-Along Program, please read through the instructions, print a copy, and print the application form. Please do not sign the form until you take it to the Police Department (your signature must be notarized). A notary is available at the Police Department in Davidson Town Hall. You will need to submit your form at least 3 days prior to the date of the ride.
